01
The challenge
Old wells often lack sonic or density logs, or have intervals ruined by borehole washouts. Without them, well ties, rock physics and inversion lose their calibration.
02
How GeoDeep handles it
- 01
Log QC detects gaps, spikes, depth shifts and washouts, and standardizes mnemonics and units.
- 02
The missing log model predicts the absent curves from the ones that were measured, trained on wells from the same field and region.
- 03
Each predicted curve carries an uncertainty band and is checked against holdout wells.
- 04
Measured, computed and predicted curves are drawn in different styles and can never overwrite one another.
- 05
The petrophysicist approves the curves for use in well ties, rock physics and inversion.
03
What changes
- More wells become usable for calibration.
- Predicted data is always identifiable in every view and report.
- The uncertainty of predicted logs carries through to downstream results.
