From seismic volume to a structural model that holds together

Interpreted horizons and faults become a consistent 3D structural model, checked against geological rules and well markers.

01

The challenge

Structural models assembled from separately interpreted surfaces often contain crossing horizons, missing fault displacement or zones with negative thickness. These errors travel downstream into property models and volumes.

02

How GeoDeep handles it

  1. 01

Interpreters finish horizons and faults in the Interpretation Studio, starting from AI drafts.

  2. 02

The fault network and the contacts between faults and horizons are assembled, and unconformities are placed in stratigraphic order.

  3. 03

The geological rules engine checks the model: layer order, displacement across faults, surfaces crossing themselves, zone thickness and fit to well markers.

  4. 04

Flagged problems open directly in the interpretation view, where they are fixed at the source.

  5. 05

The model is converted to depth with the approved velocity model, and a structural grid is built.

  6. 06

Facies and property modeling start from the same versioned framework.

03

What changes

  • Geological errors are caught before they reach volumes and simulation.
  • Every model version records the interpretation versions it was built from.
  • Property modelers and reservoir engineers always start from an approved framework.
