01
The challenge
Seismic deliveries often arrive with wrong byte locations, zero coordinates, duplicated traces or time and depth units mixed together. When these problems surface weeks later during interpretation, work has to be redone.
02
How GeoDeep handles it
- 01
The SEG Y files arrive in the raw zone, where they are checksummed and scanned.
- 02
Core parses the textual, binary and trace headers, detects the byte order and finds the inline and crossline locations.
- 03
Coordinate scalars and the reference system are validated, and the trace geometry is rebuilt.
- 04
Duplicate, missing, dead, noisy and clipped traces are detected, together with amplitude and spectrum statistics.
- 05
The Seismic QC Agent summarizes the findings and suggests fixes, each one linked to the affected traces.
- 06
The data steward reviews the QC report and approves the conversion to normalized, chunked storage.
03
What changes
- Problems are found at the door, not in the middle of an interpretation project.
- Every survey carries a quality score and a QC report that anyone on the project can read.
- The original delivery stays untouched in the raw zone for as long as it is needed.
